Johnny and Noel Gyro not only teach together, they have raised three now adult sons in the local community and have always believed in the philosophy that every student at JGK should be treated and taught the way they would like their own children to be treated. Being parents provides incredible insight as instructors to lend compassion and understanding to each child because children are unique and need to be treated as such.
Unlike others claiming to be self-titled "champions" or "masters", Mr. Gyro is the only Martial Arts veteran that has earned his respected reputation as a nationally rated and documented #1 fighter authenticated by the organizations governing such competitions dating back to 1978. Johnny Gyro is a recorded recipient of countless hard fought competitions, awards and presentations from his peers since then through to the mid 2000's. He routinely fought and competed against some of the nation's most formidable and well known opponents on record, both nationally and internationally during a time when competition was regulated and sanctioned by such publications as "Black Belt Magazine", "Karate Illustrated", "World Karate News", and "Martial Arts MA" magazines. These are not titles gained by the name of a trophy that says "world champion", but by literally earning the title when karate fighters were rated and sanctioned. Johnny Gyro had the honor to be inducted into the IFKA Hall of Fame and the Black Belt Masters Hall of Fame. Mr. Gyro's unmatched experience stands alone. No one else comes close as he holds records that still stand today from such coveted tournaments as the Long Beach Internationals, the largest karate tournament in the world.
